The Suffolk County Fire Academy will host a Firefighter I Course beginning on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.  The course is a combination of classroom sessions, virtual sessions and self-paced learning over a 10-week period.  There will also be five hands-on training sessions (HOT) and a Practical Skills exam and written final exam. 

The classroom session of this course will be held at the Fire Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24.  The virtual sessions will be held at 7:00 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: August 31, September 7, September 14, September 28, October 12, October 19, and October 26, 2021. The hands-on-training (HOT) will be held at the Fire Academy on Saturdays: October 9 (8 a.m & 11 a.m.), October 16 (8 a.m. & 11 a.m.), and October 23, 2021 (8 a.m.).  The final exam will be held at the Fire Academy on Saturday, October 30, 2021, at 8:00 a.m.

Student MUST attend all sessions of this course. Seats are limited and registration is required. No walk-ins will be admitted.  After your registration is processed, you will receive a confirmation email with final instructions.

NOTE: Registration for this course will begin approximately 60 days prior to the start of the course.
